Use this troubleshooting tree to help diagnose problems with the front panel
buttons or the touch panel.
Power on the
instrument.
Do any
front panel buttons and
knobs
function?
Do
the soft keys operate
when touched?
Yes
Check the cables between the Main Interface
board and the Front Panel assembly for
damage and proper connections.
Check that the cables to the left and right
keyboards are properly connected and are
not damaged.
If the problem persists, replace the Front
Panel assembly.
The display is functioning. If other
problems exist, refer to Check for
Problems on page 4--27.

Perform the Touchpanel Calibration routine.
Does the
calibration routine
fail?
Check that the cables between the
Main Interface board and the Front
Panel assembly are properly
connected and are not damaged.
Check that the cable from the Front
Processor board to the touch panel
is properly connected and is not
damaged.
If the problem persists, replace the
Front Panel assembly.
Yes No
The touch panel should be operating.
If problems persist with the touch panel
operation, replace the Front Panel assembly.
