Press the programmed One Touch Access
button.
2Hold the microphone 1 to 2 inches (2.5 to 5.0 cm)
from your mouth.
3Press the PTT button to make the call.
The green LED lights up.The display shows the
Private Call icon, the subscriber alias, and call
status.
4Wait for the Talk Permit Tone to end and speak
clearly into the microphone if enabled.
5Release the PTT button to listen.
The green LED lights up when the target radio
responds.
6The call ends when there is no voice activity for a
predetermined period. You will hear a short
tone.The display shows Call Ended.
Both the call initiator and recipient are able to
terminate an on-going Private Call by pressing

Making Private Calls by Using the Programmable
Number Key
Follow the procedure to make Private Calls on your
radio by using the programmable number key.
1Long press the programmed number key to the
predefined alias or ID when you are on the Home
screen.
If a number key is assigned to an entry in a
particular mode, this feature is not supported when
you long press the number key in another mode.
A negative indicator tone sounds if the number key
is not associated to an entry.
2Press the PTT button to make the call.
The green LED lights up. The display shows the
Private Call icon at the top right corner. The first
text line shows the caller alias. The second text
line shows the call status.
3Release the PTT button to listen.
