B Intelligent Face Detection and Red-Eye Removal
Intelligent Face Detection allows the camera to
automatically detect human faces and set focus
and exposure for a face anywhere in the frame for
shots that emphasize portrait subjects. Choose for
group portraits to prevent the camera from
focusing on the background. It can be used in tall
and wide orientations and is available in ,
, A, B, (C, V, D, E, F, G,
H, I), M and F modes (pp. 32–40).
Intelligent Face Detection also offers a red-eye
removal option for removing “red-eye” effects
caused by the flash.
1 Turn Intelligent Face Detection on.
Press the B button to cycle through
settings as shown below.
2 Frame the picture.
If a face is detected, it will be indicated by a
green border. If there is more than one face
in the frame, the camera will select the face
closest to the center; other faces are
indicated by white borders.
