8.2. Saving Parameters to an ASCII File
1. Set-up your communications program (e.g. ProComm) to receive an ASCII text file and
define a file name for the saved parameters.
a) If you are using ProComm, press [Page Down] to activate the "Receive Parameters"
mode. Select "A - ASCII". Type in a filename for the saved parameters
and press [Enter].
2. Enter PollCat III's Command Mode.
3. Send PollCat III's current parameter settings to an ASCII file.
a) When Command "99" is invoked, the command should begin with the "^A" character
rather than the "^B" character (e.g. ^A99). This will prevent the "99" command from
being echoed back to the polling device and included in the file with the saved
parameters.
b) When the "99" command is invoked using the "^A" character, all command options
discussed in the previous section may still be used. For example, type ^A99,0
[Enter] to save all "00" Series command parameters.
c) PollCat III will send the currently defined parameters to the polling device, where
they will be saved to the ASCII file name selected in Step 1 above.
d) If you are using ProComm, press [Esc] to exit the Receive Parameters Mode.
