7.4.6. Resetting Alarm Clue Counters (^B86)
Command ^B86 differs from Command ^B84 (Clear Alarm Condition) in that, ^B86 will
completely clear the alarm condition.
After Command ^B86 is invoked, the Alarm Message will read "NO_ALARM", and will not
indicate the name of the clue that generated the alarm. In addition, the alarm delay timer will
not be used, permitting additional alarms to be generated immediately.
Command ^B86 offers the following options:
1. ^B86 [Enter] : Clears alarm condition without clearing Alarm Clue Counters.
2. ^B86,clue [Enter] : Clears alarm condition and Alarm Clue Counters for clue only.
Where clue is any defined Clue Name.
3. ^B86,* [Enter] : Clears alarm condition and all Alarm Clue Counters.
Note: Command ^B86,* will reset all Alarm Counters to zero, making it difficult
to monitor other clues. It is advisable to note the condition of all Alarm Clue
Counters before invoking Command ^B86.
7.4.7. The Pass-Through Mode and the Monitor Mode (Optional)
Both the Pass-Through Mode and Monitor Mode permit direct communication with the PBX.
This allows you to change access codes or configuration in order to re-secure the PBX.
If you are communicating with the PollCat III via the Modem Port, both the Pass-Through
Mode and Monitor Mode also permit direct communication with the device connected to the
Computer Port. If necessary, this allows the user to access a connected device (such as your
PBX maintenance port) via modem.
The difference between the two modes is as follows:
·Pass-Through Mode: PollCat III will not store additional data received from the PBX,
and will not check for records that match Alarm Clues.
·Monitor Mode: PollCat III will store additional data received from the PBX, and will
check for records that match Alarm Clues.
CAUTION: Refer to the PBX operating manual for further instructions. Do
not attempt to alter PBX configuration or access codes unless you are
authorized to do so.
