2. Modem and AUX/Computer Ports (Output): The AUX Port is now called the
a) Communication Parameters: To maintain compatibility with PollCat II, Command
^B60 (Computer/Modem Port Communication Parameters) is still supported. Note
that Command ^B60 will set the same parameters for both the Modem Port and
Computer Port. To set separate parameters for these Ports, please refer to Commands
^B90 and ^B91 in Section 10, Command Reference Guide.
b) Modem Port Timeout: The Modem Port will now time out after 10 minutes of
inactivity. PollCat II's Modem Port would remain on-line indefinitely.
3. Power Up Default: PollCat III now includes a feature that allows some parameters to be
reset to default values upon power up. When enabled (Set-Up Switch 8 = UP), the
following defaults will be set after an interruption in power:
a) Computer Port: The baud rate will be set according to the current Set-Up Switch
configuration. The Port will be set at 8 bits, no parity, one stop bit.
b) Modem Port: The baud rate will be set to the highest rate the modem will support.
The Port will be set at 8 bits, no parity, one stop bit.
c) PBX Ports A and B: Baud rates for both PBX Ports will be set according to the Set-
Up Switches. Both Ports will be set at 7 bits, even parity.
d) Password: The password will default to "SMDR".
4. Direct Connect Mode (Sw6): In the PollCat II, Set-Up Switch 6 enabled or disabled the
PollCat message and password requirement. In the PollCat III, the Direct Connect Mode
has been changed as follows:
a) Set-Up Switch 6 enables or disables the need for the ^E command when accessing
Command Mode via the Computer Port.
b) Set-Up Switch 6 enables or disables the internal modem.
c) Set-Up Switch 6 no longer enables or disables the password requirement.

Several status screens have been modified to include additional information concerning status
of commands not previously available to the PollCat II.
