^B93 Define PBX Port B Communication Parameters
Defines the baud rate, parity, data bits, and stop bits for PBX Port B. Command ^B93 uses the
baudrate Can be 300, 600, 1200, 2400, 4800, 9600, 19200, or 38400. Only the first
two characters must be specified. If an asterisk (*) is entered in this field,
the baud rate specified by Set-Up Switches 4 and 5 is used.
parity Can be None (N), Odd (O), Even (E), Mark (M), or Space (S).
Set-Up Switch 8 (Power Up Default):
If Set-Up Switch 8 is UP, and power is lost, PBX Port B will default to 7 bits, even parity, one
stop bit. The baud rate will be set according to the Set-Up Switches, rather than the command
^B94 Enter Monitor Mode
Allows direct communication with the PBX. In Monitor Mode, data can be received directly
from the PBX in order to check reception. Commands can also be sent directly to the PBX.
If you are communicating with the PollCat III via the Modem Port, the Monitor Mode also
permits direct communication with the device connected to the Computer Port. If necessary,
this allows the user to access a connected device (such as your PBX maintenance port) via
The Monitor Mode is similar to the Pass-Through Mode (^B29), except that while the Monitor
Mode is active, PollCat III will still store data received from the PBX, and check for records
that match alarm clues.
The Monitor Mode features 4 Kbyte buffering in both directions to prevent overflow problems.
Command ^B94 offers the following options:
·PBX Port A: To access the PBX connected to PBX Port A, type ^B94,A [Enter]. The
"PBX-A READY" message will be sent.
·PBX Port B: To access the PBX connected to PBX Port B, type ^B94,B [Enter]. The
PBX-B READY" message will be sent.
·Computer Port: If you are communicating with the unit via the Modem Port, you can also
access the device connected to the Computer Port. Type ^B94,C [Enter], the system will
return the "READY" message.
Note: To exit Monitor Mode and return to Command Mode, type ^B30 [Enter].
CAUTION: Please refer to the PBX User's Manual for further instructions. Do
not attempt to alter PBX configuration or access codes unless you are
authorized to do so.
