Upgrade to Transport Layer Security (TLS)— Transport Layer Security (TLS) is a protocol that provides
communication security between the client and server applications. In the ThinOS 8.2 release, the TLS
is upgraded from version 1.0 to version 1.2. By default, the ThinOS client uses TLS 1.2 to secure any
communication protocols, connections, or applications upon SSL/ TLS in general and falls back to the
previous SSL/ TLS version when negotiating with the server.
ThinOS 8.2 contains additional INI parameters. For more information, see Dell Wyse ThinOS 8.2 INI
Features Introduced in ThinOS 8.1
The following features were introduced in ThinOS 8.1 release:
Citrix UPD compatibility — Use of Citrix Universal Printer Driver (Citrix UPD) ensures that all printers
connected to a client can also be used from a virtual desktop or application session without
integrating a new printer driver in the data center. Citrix UPD is the base of Citrix Universal Printer. It is
an auto-created printer object that uses the Citrix UPD and is not tied to any specific printer defined
on the client. For more information, see Configuring the Citrix UPD configurations.
