Using the Tool
Connecting the Tool
To diagnose a vehicle, connect the Vehicle Diagnostics Cable to the
Tool.
Tip: If you just want to power up the Tool to review data, lookup codes,
or print the data from the last vehicle tested, then you do not need to
attach the Vehicle Diagnostics Cable to the vehicle. The internal battery
provides power for this.
1. Connect the Vehicle Diagnostics
Cable to the Tool.
Make sure the pins on the cable are
not bent.
2. Find the DLC on the
vehicle.
Look under the dashboard
on the driver’s side of the
vehicle.
If the DLC is not located
under the dashboard, a
label should be there telling
you where it is located.
3. Remove the DLC cover if
required.
4. Connect the Vehicle
Diagnostics Cable to
vehicle.
Make sure the pins are not bent.
